ABOUT OUR PRINCIPAL

A graduate from the established and renowned Beijing University, 北京师范学院, Shi Bin (石滨) has more than 19 years of mandarin teaching experience in China and Singapore.

She taught in Nan Hua Primary School from 1998 to 2004 and was transferred to River Valley Primary School in 2004. As a senior teacher, she was responsible for the upper primary students. Shi Bin established the "Li Hua News Station" <立化新闻台> that made news in <大拇指>, the Chinese news editorial which circulated widely among the Singapore schools.

Her professionalism, dedication and effective teaching methodology in mandarin teaching had earned her highest award in the teaching profession. In 2007, she was awarded the "Singapore Model Teacher of the Year" by the Ministry of Education.

With a proven track record and unique effective teaching methodology, Shi Bin had been invited on numerous occasions to speak and share her teaching experience at International Conferences and Singapore Teachers' Network with secondary and primary mandarin school teachers.

In 2006 she was selected to be part of the team who participated in an overseas teaching conference in Beijing and was responsible for the researching and drafting of the primary and secondary Chinese curriculum in Singapore.

In 2007, she again was invited to represent Singapore in the Beijing International Conference to share her experience in "How to integrate social skills and emotional management learning with mandarin teaching" <如何将社交技能与情绪管理的学习融入到华文教学中>.

​

In September 2009, she was invited to share her experience with all primary school teachers at Chung Cheng main school, on the topic <以合作式的话动将SEL渗透到小学华文课文>. Most recently, she spoke at the International Teaching Research Conference held in Singapore and share her knowledge in <加强情感与创意的多元呈现方式>.

Aside from being a renowned speaker with rich experience in the area of mandarin teaching, she has also published articles in the Chinese editorial <华文教师> and <听说读写全面发展> in Chinese newspaper Lian He Zao Bao.
